Here are some common questions and answers about our programs and services.
What equipment does my child need?
Football boots or trainers, shin pads, a drink, and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.
Do you provide kit?
Yes! Your playing shirt, shorts and socks are all included in your signing-on fee.
What happens if it rains?
Training goes ahead unless there's severe weather. We'll contact you if sessions need to be cancelled.
When and where do you train?
Summer training is at Longfield Spencer Academy (LE13 0BN), winter at John Ferneley College (LE13 1LH) on the floodlit 3G pitch. Training days are Wednesday or Thursday depending on age group.
When can my daughter start playing?
She can start immediately! Just get in touch and we'll get her involved right away.
How do I join AALGIFC?
Use the Contact Us page or reach out to our club chairlady Sharon Reason directly. She'll provide all the information on training times and days and help find the perfect team for you!
Do I need any experience to play?
Not at all! Anyone can join even if they've never played before, including adults. We welcome complete beginners.
What age groups do you cater for?
We have teams for ages 4 to 18+, so there's a place for everyone from tots to adults.
How much does it cost to join?
There's an annual signing-on fee plus monthly subscriptions, with costs varying by age group. Contact us for specific details.
Do you have qualified coaches?
Absolutely! All our coaches are FA or UEFA qualified (Level 1 to UEFA B) with Safeguarding, Player Welfare and First Aid in Football training.
What is pan-disability football?
Pan-disability football welcomes anyone with a disability, impairment or long-term health condition. Players with different needs can play together in the same teams and sessions.
Does my child need an assessment to join inclusive teams?
No assessment needed - just come along and join in!

Who is your club welfare officer?
Our Lead Welfare Officer is Jordan Reek, supported by 15 additional club welfare officers across all of our teams - click on the Welfare Page for more information.
How do I report a welfare concern?
You can email our dedicated welfare address: welfare@aalgifc.co.uk (managed by our Lead Welfare Officer, Jordan Reek) or speak face-to-face with any of our club welfare officers at training sessions and match days - lookout for their pink Welfare lanyards or branded Welfare club kit.
